Configuration

This section is the foundation for using CloudFiles in Salesforce. It guides you through setting up your CloudFiles Account, Integrating External Storage solutions, and Managing Users and much more.

Before you can start using CloudFiles, you need to connect your Salesforce Org with CloudFiles. This section covers:

  • Connecting Your Salesforce Org – Step-by-step process to set up your CloudFiles account.
  • Verifying Account Status – Confirm your CloudFiles account details and connection status in the Settings tab.

Once the account is successfully connected, you can explore CloudFiles features and integrate external storage solutions.

CloudFiles integrates with multiple external storage providers, allowing users to manage documents directly within Salesforce. This section covers:

  • Library Setup - Connect SharePoint, Google Drive, OneDrive, AWS S3, Azure Blob, Box, Dropbox, MS Teams, and CloudFiles Storage.
  • Library specific settings - Choose the libraries you want to work with and configure them based on your needs.

Controlling user access and permissions is crucial for maintaining security and efficiency. This section covers:

  • User Permissions – Define and assign roles (Admin vs. Standard User) to control access.
  • License Management – Manage CloudFiles user licenses to ensure only authorized users have access.
  • External Library Access – Enable users to log into their external storage accounts and access files.

Once your configuration is complete, CloudFiles will be fully functional within Salesforce, providing a streamlined and secure document management experience!

The branding setting lets CloudFiles users add their brand and logo to shared document links, found under the Document Sharing tab in Document Management settings. This section covers:

  • Website - Add your company website here, this is used to fetch the favicon displayed in the links.
  • Logo - Add your company logo in this field to display your logo in the shared links instead of the CloudFiles logo.
