# Dynamic Data Layer

Explains how CloudFiles Dynamic Data Layer pulls, models, and personalizes Salesforce data inside templates so documents auto-adapt to real customer data.

> Kind: Guide · Updated: Aug 8, 2026

CloudFiles Dynamic Data Layer lets you pull, model, and personalize Salesforce data inside every template. It taps into any object or related data, shapes it with runtime variables and precision controls, and then renders it dynamically using tables, conditions, loops, images, and data-driven titles.

The result is documents that auto-adapt to real customer data - accurate, contextual, and ready to generate at scale. The layer is organized into four parts: how data is accessed, how it's modeled and controlled, how it's rendered into content, and how real-time inputs personalize the final document. See the Doc Gen features overview for how this fits alongside the rest of CloudFiles Doc Gen.

## Universal Salesforce Data Access

Universal Salesforce Data Access is what lets a template reach any data it needs, wherever that data actually lives in your org. It connects to standard and custom objects, every Salesforce field type, and related records across parent-child and lookup relationships, including multi-level paths. That means a single template can pull in complete customer context - not just the fields on one record - without any custom development. Learn more in the Universal Salesforce Data Access guide.

## Data Modelling Layer

The Data Modelling Layer shapes and controls what data actually reaches a template before it's rendered. It lets you define reusable data resources, accept real-time values at the moment of generation, and apply filtering, sorting, and other precision controls so only clean, relevant data goes in. The result is documents built on consistent, well-governed inputs instead of raw, unfiltered records. Learn more in the Data Modelling Layer guide.

## Dynamic Content Builder

The Dynamic Content Builder turns modeled Salesforce data into document content that adapts to what's actually in each record - auto-filling tables, showing or hiding sections, repeating content for collections, inserting images, and generating document titles automatically. Instead of maintaining separate templates for every scenario, one template produces the right output for every customer or case. Learn more in the Dynamic Content Builder guide.

## Real-Time Personalization Inputs

Real-Time Personalization Inputs bring the final, last-mile details into a document at the exact moment it's generated - whether a user is filling them in directly from a List View or Record Page button, or a Screen Flow is passing them in as part of a guided, automated process. This keeps templates broadly reusable while still letting each generated document be finished with context that only exists at generation time.
