Overview of CloudFiles Document Generation for Salesforce, organized into five feature areas: the All-Format Designer, Dynamic Data Layer, Template Governance Hub, Dynamic Document Generation Engine, and Connected Ecosystem Layer.

CloudFiles Document Generation turns the data already sitting in your Salesforce org — records, related lists, files — into finished, professional documents: contracts, invoices, proposals, statements, and more. Everything happens natively inside Salesforce, so there's no exporting data to a separate document tool and no stitching together logins or spreadsheets to get a document out the door.

Getting from a blank template to a signed, shared document follows one continuous path, and each feature area below is a stage in that path: you design templates in the tools your team already uses (All-Format Designer), connect them to live Salesforce data (Dynamic Data Layer), manage them centrally as they evolve (Template Governance Hub), generate documents on demand or at scale (Dynamic Document Generation Engine), and extend the finished output into e-signature, other Salesforce surfaces, and other systems (Connected Ecosystem Layer).

## All-Format Designer

Every generated document starts as a template, and All-Format Designer lets your team build those templates inside the applications they already know — Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or Salesforce's own native PDF builder — instead of learning a new design tool. Because templates are built where your team already works, the layouts, tables, and brand styling your organization has already signed off on carry through untouched once Salesforce data is merged in. Learn more in the All-Format Designer guide.

## Dynamic Data Layer

Once a template exists, it needs real Salesforce data behind it — that's the job of the Dynamic Data Layer. It reaches into any Salesforce object or related record, lets you control exactly what data goes into the document, and renders it so tables, conditional sections, and images adjust automatically to each record. The result is one template that produces an accurate, personalized document for every customer or case, instead of a separate template for every scenario. Learn more in the Dynamic Data Layer guide.

## Template Governance Hub

As the number of templates grows, someone needs to keep them accurate and under control — that's what the Template Governance Hub is for. It's a central place to check a template before it goes live, track how it changes over time, and see how it's being used across the org, so admins always know what's live and can trust it. Learn more in the Template Governance Hub guide.

## Dynamic Document Generation Engine

With a governed, data-connected template ready, the Dynamic Document Generation Engine is what actually produces the document — instantly for a single record, or in bulk across thousands of records at once. Every output can be secured and previewed immediately, and multiple files can be merged into a single package before it goes out. Learn more in the Dynamic Document Generation Engine guide.

## Connected Ecosystem Layer

A generated document is rarely the end of the process, and the Connected Ecosystem Layer is what carries it forward — out for e-signature, into the Salesforce surfaces your team already works from, across other CloudFiles products, and into custom systems through APIs.
