Email & Domain Access Control
Email collection & authentication is a great way to ensure that your files reach the right hands. With email access control you can create a list of email ids, that can or cannot access your documents. Along with this you can also block access to email ids from viewing your document. This applies equally well to complete domains as well.
This feature can be used for qualification purposes by marketing teams or security purposes by sales and service teams. In this article we talk about the allow and block lists for emails and domains and how to use them.
Steps to create access control for your files using email authentication
- Access the CloudFiles Content Library. Click on the file for which you wish to create a access/ block list of email ids to access it's link settings.
- Click on the Require email option. This will open up the settings for access control. Here, enable the enforce email verification option.
- Allow list: Enter the email ids you wish to allow to view your files.
- Block list: Enter the email ids you wish to not allow to view your files.
CloudFiles uses the most restrictive settings when multiple lists are used.
You can additionally enter a domain address and allow/block all users using that specific domain from accessing your documents.
When someone tries to access the file outside of the allow list or in the block list, they are shown an Access Denied message by the email wall. This is shown below.
