Toggle Link Offline or Online

4min

CloudFiles is an Integration first document sharing tool that helps you maintain control of your files even after it is shared with your document recipients. The status feature will give you powers to instantly disable access to your shared links from your recipients by changing Online link status to an Offline link status. Additionally, you can also instantly enable the access back using the same toggle. This toggling can also be achieved using automations.

To change the status of the links of your docs, you must navigate to the link settings screen from the content library. The status toggle is usually one of the first options on this screen.

Navigating to Link Settings Screen

In the Content Library, navigate to the file for which you want to take the link offline. You should see the link of interest in the list of links on the file details screen. If you click on the link tile, this will open the link details page that shows all the link settings and analytics.

The GIF below shows how to navigate to the link settings page for a specific link.

Checking if status changed correctly

If the status is Online, your recipients will be able to view the document. If the status is Offline, your recipients will not be able to view the document and they will only see a "file not found" page.
