overview the settings page in the cloudfiles salesforce app (under document management) lets admins configure event publishing and external library access from here, you can decide which file events generate salesforce platform events and whether users connect with their own credentials or through a shared service account service account for library access by default, each salesforce user connects to external storage with their own credentials enabling the service account option allows all users to access external file libraries using a single central integration user instead of individual user credentials to turn this on, navigate to the cloudfiles app > document management > settings and enable “use service account for library access ” all users will then have the same level of access to files and folders as the integration user, since all create/read/update/delete actions are performed with that account’s permissions note for more details, refer to the using a service account guide configure cloudfiles event cloudfiles can publish various events (both platform events and custom object events) in salesforce to signal file related actions the settings page now allows you to selectively enable or disable which cloudfiles events get published to salesforce this new feature provides finer control over your flow automations – you can choose only the events you need, preventing unnecessary events from triggering salesforce flows the following event types are currently supported with toggles in settings file uploaded – published when a file is uploaded to an external storage through cloudfiles in salesforce resource updated – published when a file or folder’s metadata/properties are updated via cloudfiles resource moved – published when a file or folder is moved to a different location in the external library via cloudfiles resource deleted – published when a file or folder is deleted from the external storage using cloudfiles this granular control allows admins to manage which cloudfiles actions should trigger salesforce flows or processes, reducing noise and focusing on the events relevant to your use cases auto assign licenses when enabled, this setting automatically assigns a cloudfiles license to the most recent salesforce user who accesses any cloudfiles component (such as the widget or content library), provided the user already has a relevant cloudfiles permission set if the toggle is off, such users will still appear in the user management list but with an inactive (unassigned) license status users without any cloudfiles permission set will not be added as cloudfiles users at all, even if they access the widget or content library for details on assigning permission sets to users, see the user permissions guide
