Installation

The Installation section guides you through setting up CloudFiles in your Salesforce org, ensuring a smooth onboarding process. This allows you to seamlessly leverage CloudFiles for document management and automation.

CloudFiles is a robust document management platform that integrates with multiple external storage solutions. Before you begin, ensure you meet the technical requirements and are familiar with the components included in the package.

This section is divided into three key sub-sections -

The CloudFiles managed package is available for installation from the Salesforce AppExchange. This subsection covers:

  1. Pre-requisites – Ensure you have System Administrator access.
  2. Step-by-step installation guide – From finding CloudFiles on AppExchange to approving third-party access.
  3. Post-installation steps – After installation, proceed with configuration to set up your CloudFiles account and storage integrations.

When you install CloudFiles, you get access to various tools and features designed to enhance your document management experience. This subsection covers:

  1. CloudFiles Lightning App & Classic App – Access CloudFiles from Salesforce’s App Launcher or in Salesforce Classic.
  2. Lightning Web Component (LWC) Widgets – Embed CloudFiles on salesforce pages for seamless file and folder management.
  3. Custom Permissions – Control user access with predefined roles (Admin, Standard, External User).
  4. Flow Actions & Components – Automate document-related processes using Salesforce Flows and CloudFiles Event Records.
  5. Document Sharing Add-on – Share files with detailed tracking and analytics directly from Salesforce.
  6. Apex Support – Extend CloudFiles functionality with custom Apex code.

Before installing CloudFiles, ensure your Salesforce edition, product, and browser meet the requirements. This subsection details:

  1. Supported Salesforce Editions – Enterprise, Unlimited, Performance, Professional, Developer.
  2. Compatible Salesforce Products – Works with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Field Service, Financial Services Cloud, and more.
  3. Supported Browsers & Mobile Compatibility – Works with Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Internet Explorer 11, and is optimized for the Salesforce Mobile App and FSL Mobile App.
