the setup section in cloudfiles explains how experience cloud sharing is enabled and configured at the org level it covers default sharing, usage monitoring, and how to add the cloudfiles widget to experience cloud pages it also provides an overview of widget placement options, supported operations, and widget configuration settings default sharing before enabling the default sharing option, make sure experience cloud sharing is enabled under document management in cloudfiles app go to the cloudfiles app select document management open experience cloud go to the setup home section enable enable sharing with experience cloud users select automatically share files with experience cloud users when attached to a record when this option is enabled, files and folders are automatically shared with experience cloud users when they are attached to a salesforce record experience cloud users who have access to the record in the experience cloud site can also access the shared files usage monitoring the experience cloud setup page includes monitoring information that helps administrators track experience cloud user activity in cloudfiles this monitoring is useful for understanding how many external users are accessing cloudfiles content and for reviewing activity trends over time monitor active users the total number of active users section shows the number of experience cloud users who accessed cloudfiles during the selected time period the chart provides a visual view of activity and helps monitor usage patterns you can adjust the monitoring view using the following filters interval to control how activity is grouped (for example, day) date range to change the reporting period (for example, last 30 days) add widget to experience cloud the cloudfiles widget can be added to experience cloud pages to display files and folders based on the page context widget placement options record page – displays files and folders related to the current salesforce record home page – displays files and folders from configured locations or content libraries custom community page – displays content based on the selected widget configuration the content shown in the widget and the actions available to users depend on widget configuration and assigned permissions widget actions in the cloudfiles community widget, external users who are assigned the cloudfiles external users permission set can perform actions such as uploading files, downloading files, creating folders, deleting files and folders, creating shareable links, and viewing analytics the operations available to users depend on the permission set configuration and widget level settings refer to docid\ pf9zjwi2z0a17sggm0tr2 to understand how this permission set works and how to customize it widget configuration widget configuration controls how the cloudfiles experience cloud widget behaves and what users can see or do in the experience cloud site it allows administrators to manage which columns are displayed, and how content is presented in the widget, control mandatory columns and required actions, based on the business needs widget configuration can be used to manage user actions available in the widget, such as uploading files, downloading, creating folders, deleting items, and creating shareable links it can also include upload restrictions such as limiting supported file types, controlling file uploads, or applying other content rules these settings work together with the cloudfiles external users permission set and can further restrict or allow actions at a widget level create a widget configuration for experience cloud go to the cloudfiles app select document management and open widget configuration click create new and select experience cloud widget as the widget type configure the widget settings based on your requirements save the configuration and update widget id on the cloudfiles community widget
