Since CloudFiles is tied to HubSpot records, it’s important to know which objects are supported. At present, CloudFiles works with HubSpot’s standard objects (Contacts, Companies, Deals, Leads, and Tickets) as well as custom objects.
Supported HubSpot Objects
At the moment, CloudFiles works with the following HubSpot objects:
- Contacts
- Companies
- Deals
- Tickets
- Custom Objects
On these objects, you can:
- Upload and attach files or folders using CloudFiles App Card
- Open them directly in the connected cloud storage.
- Browse, rename, download, and delete them.
- Share them securely directly from HubSpot records.
- Track file views and engagement in the HubSpot timeline.
- Run workflow automations on these objects
What’s Not Supported?
CloudFiles does not currently support other HubSpot objects such as Leads, Quotes, Products etc...
This means:
- CloudFiles activity will not appear in the timeline of these unsupported objects.
- Files cannot be uploaded or shared directly from these objects.
Why CloudFiles Works Only with some Objects and Not all of them?
The CloudFiles–HubSpot integration relies on HubSpot’s APIs, mainly the CRM Timeline API and CRM Cards API. The Timeline API allows integrations like CloudFiles to log activities (e.g., file views, uploads) into the timeline of HubSpot records, while CRM Cards let apps surface external data directly and displays app data in record sidebars. HubSpot’s own guide on How to set up and use Hubspot CRM Cards explains how external data can be configured and displayed inside HubSpot.
At present, both of these APIs work primarily with HubSpot’s standard objects (Contacts, Companies, Deals, Tickets) and custom objects (with some special support). As HubSpot expands its API capabilities, support for additional object types may become available.
